Katy is FIVE!

I can't believe it. My little girl turned 5 yesterday. She has grown up so much lately. She starts Kindergarten in less than a month! AHHH!

We had a pretty low-key birthday yesterday. I took the kids with me to Party City to get supplies for the big party on Sunday. Kate had fun helping me pick out prizes for games and decorations for the house/garage. Then we made rice krispie treats with chocolate chips in the middle. The kids loved helping! For snack time we made our own lunchables, then had the rice krispie treats for dessert. :) The kids also helped punch out shapes and make kits for our craft project we have planned for the party. We had Little Ceasars pizza and breadsticks for supper. Yum. Katy opened a present from "Great Janet" (Great Aunt Janet), which she LOVED. She got this awesome coloring/activity book with all wild animal stuff inside and a cool pink cape to wear! So cute. We're saving the rest of the gifts for Sunday so she has lots to open all at once. Fun!

Today we're going to meet Brian at Chipotle for lunch and then it's back to cleaning and getting ready for the party. (my place has never looked so good - I love it!) I'll post pics next week after the party.

closet update

My closet is CLEAN....and ORGANIZED! YAY! Now that that is done, it is time to deal with the multiple boxes of misc. junk. UGH. I forgot why I had been putting this off for so long -- it's a LOT of work!!! :( Hopefully by the end of the week I can post some pics. (but no promises!!)

cleaning closets

Do you ever find yourself super motivated to clean a closet, then get about 1/2 way through and want to quit?? UGGHHH!!! That's where I'm at right now. I have 1/2 of my bedroom closet sitting on my bed and on the floor, and the other half is still in there. How I ever accumulated this much junk is beyond me. I thought I got rid of a good amount at the garage sale, but obviously I have a long ways to go. We are bursting at the seams in this house!! HELP!!

my funny little boy

Jack is cracking me UP this morning.

Out of the blue he goes "Mommy, I wanna go to the zoo with Mer-Mer and see the doll-uh-fins!" (yep, dolphins is THREE syllables in Jack's world...) :)

Then he saw all my scrapbooking stuff out on the dining room table and yelled to me "Mommy!!! Go to your SCRAPBOOKING!!" (I think he meant Scrap Mania, which I did last weekend...?) Apparently he wants me to leave the house?? ha ha.

Just now he came over to me with a little tiger puzzle piece and was teasing me with it and said (in a taunting voice...) "Mommy...look out!! The tiger's gonna bite your BUTT!"

Kate is currently upstairs b/c she said Jack stunk too bad and she couldn't stand it. (note: changed the diaper...nothing in there!) You should have seen the look on his face when Kate was plugging her nose and yelling that he smelled. It was priceless. It was kind of a "what's wrong with me???"

NOW he is spinning in circles in the dining room and falling over from dizziness. What a funny little boy. :)

Time to get dressed (yep - 10:47 and we're all still in pj's! I love the summer.) We're heading to the grocery store. Wish me luck!

Can't sleep...

I can't sleep, so I figured why not FINALLY update my blog??

We had such a great weekend - - Saturday we met the Petersons at the MN zoo. (Kate and Jack got to feed the giraffe some crackers!!) It was super hot and crowded, but fun. I love the new Africa exhibit!!

Aren't the giraffes cute?? I just love them. Kate was pretty intrigued by the giraffe's long purple tongue. :)

After that we drove around looking for this garage sale that was supposed to have stampin up stuff....but they had already closed it down for the day. :( Brian ran into Fleet Farm and found some things for his little boat. He's so pumped to get it out again over the 4th!! :) I love seeing him so excited.

Then Brian and the kids stayed home and I went to Scrap Mania at Archiver's all by myself. It was awesome. There was hardly anyone there so we all had our own table. I even won the grand prize drawing - woo hoo!! (a 12x12 paper pack, in case anyone is wondering) :)

THEN we made last minute plans with Beth and Cory Citurs and drove up to Plymouth to have a bonfire with them. It was tons of fun - - we even got to play a little Wii! :) We spent the night there and were up until about 2:30 in the morning. Of COURSE Jack decides he should wake up at 7am then. UGH!! Kate and Jack love playing with the dogs and cats and are already asking when they can go back again. (hopefully soon, b/c I forgot Jack's favorite blanket there - - oops! Bad Mommy!)

We went home Sunday morning to shower and then drove up to my Grandparent's in Oakdale. (My parents were there too.) The kids had fun helping Great Grandma water the flowers. Jack even gave Great Grandpa a big kiss when we left! So cute.

I tried making Brian a yummy Father's Day dinner, but it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. :( I promised him there would be a re-do sometime this week. :)

I think that's about it! (Oh, and I have a little idea in mind for starting up my own business ....but more on that later!)

Hope everyone is having a great week and staying out of the heat. Ugh, it's hot! :(

ScrapBee at the BrauHaus

ScrapBee hosted its first ever 7 hour crop at the BrauHaus in Lucan on Saturday!  We had a GREAT time.  I hope we can do this again soon - it was so much fun.  All of my siblings were there at the bar along with their significant others (even my German sister, Tina and her boyfriend Torsten!), so we had a lot of fun after the crop was over too.

Here is one of the cards that was in our card kits that everyone got at the crop.

This is a picture of some of the tools we had out for everyone to use.  Between me, Laurie, Mer and Krista, I seriously think we could open our own scrapbook store and send at least one of our children to college with that money...

Mer, Laurie, Krista and Christina scrappin' away.

Me and my BFF.  Mer, can you believe we've been best friends for 17 years???  That's amazing.  (and wow - that ages us too, huh??) :)

The whole "Weidemann clan" - me and Brian, Christi and Jon, Ashley and Joel, Tina and Torsten.  It was so much fun to have us all together.  I love this picture.

Tina & Torsten's visit

Tina and Torsten were able to come from Germany for my brother's wedding and spend the week in MN.  We had SUCH a great time having them here!!  We visited the Belview Bar and Legion, went to a Twins game, the MN zoo, scrapbooked at the BrauHaus, and ate at Benihana.  Brian even taught Torsten how to play softball.  He was a natural.  :)   Jack also learned some German from Tina!!  I'll do my best to keep teaching him some words every now and then so that next time Tina and Torsten come to visit, he can impress them with his Deutsche speaking skills.  Thanks for coming to visit, Tina and Torsten!  We will miss you!
